Around Saranda

From the town and its bay up to Lëkurësi Castle, south to Ksamil and Butrint, inland to the Blue Eye and north along the coast to Lukovë and Borsh.

Saranda stands on a curved bay of the Ionian Sea opposite Corfu, and the places around it serve a visitor in different ways. The town has the promenade, the port for the Corfu ferries and the ruins of an ancient synagogue in its centre; Lëkurës is the hill above it, crowned by an Ottoman castle; Ksamil, to the south inside Butrint National Park, has the beaches and the small islands offshore; Butrint itself is the ancient city above the Vivari Channel; the Blue Eye spring lies inland near Muzinë; and Lukovë and Borsh are villages up the coast to the north.
