Currency exchange counters in Saranda for changing money into lek
Albania uses the lek, and all four listed counters change foreign banknotes into lek in the centre of Saranda. On Rruga Flamurit, a town-centre shopping street, one counter works inside a jeweller's that also sells perfume and watches, marked by a tall yellow light box at the door, and another stands in a clothes-shop doorway, run by the company Denmar and signed with yellow light boxes and a pavement board.
On Rruga Jonianet, the road along the seafront, an exchange office with a single glass-screened counter shows its rates on a screen inside and has a cash machine in the same frontage, a short walk from the square with the Ferris wheel. On Rruga Onhezmi, an office founded in 2010 changes money and works as a MoneyGram agent, so cash can be sent abroad or collected from overseas.
